Ricardo B. Aguas, Jr is the Vice President for Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs of Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI).
Prior to joining MRSGI, Aguas served as the Director for Store Operations at Jollibee Food Corporation. He also held Operations Management posts for various organizations outside the country, serving as Regional Supply Director for the Asia Pacific and Japan region at Astra Zeneca (China); Global Supply Chain Capability Director, Regional Supply Chain Director for Asia Pacific, and Supply Director for Singapore and India Operations at Diageo Singapore Private Limited (Singapore); Supply Chain Director for Asia Pacific (Upstream Operations), Operations Director for Aircraft Product line for Asia Pacific, and European Logistics Operations Finance Manager at Michelin. He had various leadership post in local companies such as Procter and Gamble, Selecta Dairy products and Jollibee Food Corporation. He was an Asia pacific executive council member for the efficient consumer response group (ECR), a Singapore customs advisory council member and a speaker of ligistics world forums. He was also a member of the faculty at De La Salle College of St. Benilde, under the Human Resources Department.
With his vast experience in logistics and supply chain, Aguas led projects including the China/India Manufacturing and Logistics footprint; Global Supply Chain Capability Development; Global Inventory Modeling & Optimization; System Roll out – Oracle/SAP; Global Sales and Operations Planning Process; SKU rationalization; Regional Freight Cost Reduction; Customer Service Excellence; and the setup of manufacturing plants and warehouses from Greenfield. He is also an established speaker in Logistics conferences sharing best in breed solutions in global supply chain.
Aguas has earned recognition for supply chains he has set up for various companies including the Global Centre of Best Practice for Diageo Asia Pacific; the Best Supply Chain in Emerging Markets – Pharmaceutical award and the Best in Talent and Development-Across Industries award for AstraZeneca Asia Pacific.
Aguas graduated from the De La Salle University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, major in Business Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He was one of the prestigious Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) in 1989. He completed Executive Programs at the Asian Institute of Management (Finance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain); Pennsylvania State University (Business Logistics), and University of Davis California (Quality Management).
