Penelope G. Burnett is the Chief Merchandising Officer for General Merchandise of Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI). Having been in the US retail industry for over two decades, Burnett has cultivated her vast experience and expertise in the fields of merchandising, merchandise planning and operations, product and brand development, sales and marketing.
She also built a strong reputation in developing and implementing merchandising strategies that have driven corporate expansion achievement of financial plans, and enhanced competitive brand positioning in the US retail industry.
Before assuming her post in MRSGI, Burnett held key merchandising and brand development positions in top US retail companies such as Target, Macy’s Merchandising Group, Guggenheim Partners, Li and Fung Global Brands Group, Evine Live (formerly Shop NBC), and PGB Consulting.
Burnett graduated from the Sweet Briar College in Virginia, USA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She earned her Master’s degree in Business Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona.
