Rex Jun T. Cabanilla is the Chief Technology Officer of Metro Retail Sales Group, Inc. Prior to his appointment, Cabanilla held various operations and technology leadership roles with increasing responsibility as head of MRSGI's IT department. He managed customer facing and back office networks, enhanced in-house developed systems and helped formulate corporate IT policies and administrative systems, rising from the rank of Assistant Manager for Electronic Data Processing to Information Systems Manager.

Cabanilla brings with him over 27 years of IT experience in the service industry. He joined the organization in 1993 and provides leadership for the development and implementation of long-term strategic technology policies and operational systems and the management of an innovative, secure and streamlined IT Division.

Cabanilla’s IT expertise covers a vast suite of business applications specialized for the retail industry, ranging from point-of-sale platforms to merchandise management systems, personnel management, networking and communications infrastructure and database management, among others.

Cabanilla earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BSECE) from University of San Carlos in Cebu City. He placed 8th in the ECE Licensure Examinations in 1988.
