The wellbeing of small business and their communities is always foremost in the minds of Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. We therefore take great pride and honor to announce that the first Virtual Metro Community Bazaar (VMCB), our online collective shop-for-a-cause project, garnered a Merit Award in the 18th Philippine Quill Awards, the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication.
This notable citation recognizes our resolve to continue our CSR programs with our retail partners despite the limitations brought about by the pandemic. We adopted the theme “We Rise as One Metro Family”, to emphasize our constant commitment to help uplift lives and livelihoods, and in turn give even more sustainable products that will delight our consumers.
We launched the VMCB together with Vicsal Foundation in celebration of Corporate Social Responsibility Month in July 2020. We featured dynamic food selections and sustainable lifestyle merchandise from select social enterprise brands, along with fun learning activities such as skills and entrepreneurship training conducted by MRSGI’s CSR partners.
