MGaisano AngMargaret Gaisano Ang has served as Director of the Company since August 2003 up to the present and its Corporate Secretary until July 26, 2015.

Ms. Gaisano-Ang received a Bachelor of Science degree, major in Accounting (1974, Cum Laude), from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City and is a certified public accountant.

She currently serves as Director and Corporate Secretary of Vicsal Development Corporation and Pacific Mall Corporation. Ms. Gaisano-Ang is also the President of Filipino Fund, Inc. and Grand Holidays, Inc. Additionally, she serves as Director of Taft Property Venture Development Corporation and Midland Development Corporation, and as a Trustee of Vicsal Foundation, Incorporated.

GParaynoGuillermo L. Parayno Jr. is an Independent Director of Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI). He has held various leadership positions in both the government and private sectors. His accomplishments in public service, as well as his expertise in information technology infrastructure, logistics, and supply chain, have gained him recognition from different institutions, including the PMA Alumni Association, the Asian Institute of Management, the Chamber of Customs Brokers of the Philippines and the Professional Regulatory Commission of the Philippines.

Currently, Parayno is the Vice Chairman of the Philippine Veterans Bank; Chairman and President of E-Konek Pilipinas, Inc.; President of Bagong Silang Farms, Inc.; and President of the Parayno Consultancy Services on Logistics and Distribution, Customs, Information Technology, and Taxation. Prior to his appointment at MRSGI, Parayno has also previously served as Co-Chairman and President of the Lina Group of Companies and a member of the Toyota Motor Corporation’s Board of Directors. 

Parayno has previously served as a Commissioner in the Bureaus of Internal Revenue and Customs and as Regional Director for the Economic Intelligence and Investigation Bureau of the Department of Finance. He has also served as Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs of the Philippine Coast Guard, as well as taught at the Philippine Military Academy and the University of the Philippines. He has further worked for several development projects with the United Nations Development Program and the Asian Development Bank.

He holds Master’s degrees in Psychology from the University of the Philippines and Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management. He graduated magna cum laude from the Philippine Military Academy.

 

JOrenseJoselito G. Orense is the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI). Before his appointment, he served as MRSGI’s Treasurer and Chief Finance Officer for 10 years since 2015.

Mr. Orense is a Certified Public Accountant. He graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines in 1987, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accountancy. He obtained his Master’s degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management in 1991.

Mr. Orense has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the retail industry. Prior to joining MRSGI, he served as Chief Financial Officer of All Value Holdings Corp. from 2012 to 2015; Chief Financial Officer of Adidas Philippines from 2004 to 2010; and Director of Accounting and Chief Financial Officer of Golden Arches Development Corporation from 1996 to 2002.

MNeraMedel T. Nera was elected as Independent Director of the Company on October 23, 2023 up to the present.

Mr. Nera graduated from the Far Eastern University in Manila with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He earned his Master of Business Administration in the Stern School of Business, New York University, New York, New York, USA. He also participated in the Pacific Rim Bankers Program in the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, USA.

He currently serves in the Boards of the House of Investments, Inc. (HOI), IPeople, Inc. (IPO), EEI Corporation (EEI), Seafront Resources Corporation (SPM), National Reinsurance Corporation of the Philippines, Inc. (NRCP), Ionics, Inc. (ION), and Holcim Philippines, Inc. (HLCM). Mr. Nera was the President and CEO of House of Investments, Inc. (HOI) from July 2011 to July 2019, a holding company of the Yuchengco group. HOI has more than a dozen significant subsidiaries and associates. These include EEI Corporation, iPeople, Inc. (which includes the Mapua University), and Honda and Isuzu Car dealership groups. He was formerly a Director of RCBC (Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation).

Mr. Nera was formerly a Senior Partner of SyCip Gorres Velayo and Co. (SGV & Co.), where he had about 35 years of experience in professional services. He had served as Markets leader and Financial Services Practice Head at SGV. From 2008 -2010, he served as Assurance Leader for the Financial Services Assurance practice of Ernst and Young in the Far East covering China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Korea, Singapore, Philippines, and Vietnam. Mr. Nera was a partner for 22 years and had served in various other leadership positions. He was also the Vice President and member of the Board of Governors of the Management Association of the Philippines and a member of the Ernst & Young Far East Area Advisory Council.

JGaisanoJack S. Gaisano has been a Director of the Company since August 2003 up to the present. He previously held the position of Chairman and President from 2003 to 2011.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City in 1976 and is a board-certified chemical engineer.

He currently also serves as Chairman and President of Taft Property Venture Development Corporation and Midland Development Corporation. He is also a Director of HTLand, Inc., Vicsal Development Corporation, and Pacific Mall Corporation.
