Metro Retail Stores Group launched its first-ever Metro Gift Registry on September 27 at Metro Alabang Department Store with celebrity & bride-to-be Marian Rivera as Guest of Honor of the event. Thousands of Metro shoppers got a glimpse of the Grand Launch and crowd drawer Marian Rivera who was all smiles during the occasion.

The Grand Launch kicked off with the Gift Ribbon Untying Ceremony which formally opened the Metro Gift Registry Lounge. This was led by Marian Rivera; Frank Gaisano, Metro Retail Stores Group Chairman & CEO; Jasper Tiu, Vice President of Peerless Lion (makers of Hana Shampoo); Francis Moral, COO of Tridharma Marketing (distributor of Kopiko Café Blanca); DJ Kim, Samsung Philippines Business Unit Director for Digital Appliances; and Anna Marie Periquet, Metro Vice President for Corporate Affairs and concurrent Project Proponent of the Metro Gift Registry.

The Metro Gift Registry is the country’s only gift registry that boasts of an electronic registry system process and electronic catalogue. At the grand launch, the Gift Registry Consultants demonstrated to Marian Rivera the Gift Registry Systems Process Flow through an LCD Pedestal. The Metro Gift Registry boasts of a wide selection of gift items for all occasions from weddings, to bridal showers, to baptisms and baby showers, to housewarming and even special occasions such as graduations, debuts and corporate events. Gift items include Wine and Dine for the Home, Love My Kitchen, Sweet Dreams for the Bedroom, Bath Essentials, Decorate and Celebrate for the Home and Office, Baby Wishlist, Travel Getaway, and Gadgets and Appliances. The Metro Gift Registry also offers a Personalize It services menu that includes embroidery, engraving, glass etching and stationery printing. Other services offered at the Metro Gift Registry are Events and Celebrations Management, Financial Consultancy, Bridal Wear designed by in-house designers, and many more.

The main event of the Grand Launch included a bridal wear fashion show featuring the bridal collection of Haute Lifestyle by Shiera Lim and Krugarant by Baby Lim; and a resort wear fashion show featuring Nautilus, Metro’s very own line of resort wear.

Contemporary bridal gowns by fashion designer Shiera Lim of Haute Lifestyle were showcased during the fashion show.

The ecstatic bride-to-be, Marian Rivera took to the stage to acknowledge Metro Department Store for hosting a bridal shower on her honor. She also thanked Metro and the numerous brand sponsors for their generous support.
