Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI) proudly celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of its Store Operations and Quality Assurance teams in the first half of 2025, a strong start to the year marked by excellence, teamwork, and an unwavering dedication to service and safety.

Several Metro stores received the prestigious Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Gold Bagwis Awards, reinforcing MRSGI’s standing as a trusted, customer-focused retailer. Metro Sum-ag achieved a major milestone with its first-ever DTI Gold Bagwis Award for its supermarket, a proud moment and testament to its commitment to consumer welfare and service quality.

Metro Bacolod renewed its Gold Bagwis Awards for the supermarket and department store, demonstrating consistent performance.

Metro Market! Market! also celebrated the successful renewal of its awards for the same categories, highlighting continued operational excellence.

The DTI Bagwis Awards serve as a mark of distinction in the industry, recognizing businesses that uphold fair trade practices, provide outstanding customer service, and demonstrate responsible business conduct. These achievements are a shining reflection of the passion, discipline, and customer-first mindset of Metro’s store teams.

Adding to these honors, MRSGI also celebrates another key milestone in quality and safety. Metro Ayala Cebu, together with MRSGI’s Quality Assurance Team, successfully maintained its Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certifications following a rigorous assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI) Philippines.

Metro Ayala Cebu, along with Metro Mandaue and Metro Alabang, currently holds valid HACCP certifications, underscoring MRSGI’s continued leadership in food safety and its distinction as the first and only retailer in the Philippines to hold both GMP and HACCP certifications.
